Hi, I’m Nicole Sue. Nice to meet you. I'm a Private Wealth Specialist with a wealth management firm. The easiest way to know me is to see my life experience explained in one simple timeline, before B.C. and after A.D.. B.C. is Before Caleb (my firstborn) and A.D. is After Darius (my youngest). The B.C. days would be my high-flying career with KPMG, one of the world’s Big 4s, where I dashed between corporate meetings in business suits and stilettos.
My A.D. days were considerably less glamorous. I devoted my time as a stay-at-home mom for my two children, with one being a smart neurodivergent art prodigy. As the years go, the medical expenses and countless private therapy sessions keep piling up. Confronting hard financial decisions became a norm in our household. So it’s safe to say I am familiar with the difficulties of life in different seasons as well as the worries and concerns that plight most families.
These days, I am focusing on using what I’ve learned to help others. As a woman, I am in a unique position to understand a lot of the mental burden and responsibilities that automatically falls on our shoulders, either as someone’s daughter, wife, or mother (sometimes all at once!). An empathetic ear and a good understanding of the dynamics and complexities of those commitments is key to unlocking the hurdles that prevents you from experiencing better financial freedom.
Everyone understands Emotional Intelligence (EQ) as being smart when it comes to managing your emotions. Financial intelligence is being smart with your money, however much you have. The misconception that wealth management is only for the rich is not true. Everybody should have access to proper financial advice. Money is probably your most significant resource ever, and the time and energy you have to harness it, is limited. So being financially smart means making sure your money works for you, not the other way round. It’s between the cost of seeking professional help vs. the price you pay for failing to take action.
If I am not working, you can find me on the pickleball courts or hiking with friends. I am also part of a support group for twice-exceptional children, and as Chair of the Association of British Women in Malaysia and a member of The Malaysia British Society, I am often involved with various social impact initiatives around town. So, if you do spot me in town, don’t be shy, come and say hello. I am always game for a conversation.
