Hello there! My name is Joshua and I am originally from Yorkshire in the UK. My hometown is actually called Doncaster, it's a small coal-mining town that nobody's ever heard of, soI usually have to tell people I am from Leeds. Which works out fine, since I studied at Leeds Met and spent a lot of time there anyway. I didn't dive straight into the world of finance. I had initially started as a touring musician and had a love for the performing arts, while spending my weekdays working as a Railway Engineer up and down the UK.
However, like most people who leave their home country, I had a "There has to be more to life than this" moment! Within two weeks, I was on my first long haul flight to South East Asia, and fell in love with the world. I was lucky enough to be offered a remote career in Health Insurance, which I took full advantage of. Waking up by the pyramids of Egypt, and sleeping in view of the New York City Skyline. Having Roti Canai for breakfast in Malaysia and Paella for dinner in Madrid. I experience more of the world than anyone I have ever met, which gave me a deep understanding of the needs Expats have when living abroad.
After falling in love with Malaysia, I then fell in love with Melbourne Capital Group, they ticked every box I was looking for, especially the ability to help people for the right reasons. Not only in finance and insurance, but later evolving into being a relocation expert and growing one of the largest Expat communities in Asia: The Expats Club. Our focus is on helping Expats relocate to Malaysia, find a supportive community and meet other Expats, and get the help they need while also giving back to local causes.
I am always open to being reached out to, whether you want to have a meeting with us at Melbourne Capital Group, or if you need support in any other areas. Don't hesitate to connect, I am more than happy to put some time aside to speak with you.
